NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Preparing for their fourth match in six days, WKU volleyball saw the finish line Tuesday as the Lady Toppers arrived on the campus of Lipscomb University for a match with the Bisons.
WKU crossed that line in stride as sophomore Alyssa Cavanaugh led a Lady Topper offensive attack that finished with a .394 hitting clip as WKU swept Lipscomb (25-22, 25-17, 25-18) to improve its current winning streak to 10 matches.
Cavanaugh finished with a match-high 15 kills on .520 hitting as the Lady Toppers connected on 45 kills with just eight errors. The senior duo of Noelle Langenkamp and Haley Bodway both finished with nine kills while freshman Rachel Anderson added seven off .600 hitting.
Setter Jessica Lucas finished with a near double-double of 39 assists and eight digs to go with a pair of kills.
Defensively, WKU held Lipscomb (8-7) to .204 hitting on the evening. Senior Rachel Anderson led with 10 digs while the Lady Tops finished with five total blocks.
The straight-set victory is the WKU's 11th on the year and its third straight.
WKU (16-2, 3-0 C-USA) gets a much-needed break as the Lady Toppers don't return to action until Sunday evening when the Lady Tops travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, for a rivalry match with Middle Tennessee at 6 p.m . CT.
