BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU returns to the Lower 48 after capturing the 2015 GCI Great Alaska Shootout championship last week, traveling south to Mississippi for a clash against Ole Miss on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. (CT).
The Lady Toppers defeated George Mason (84-58) and Alaska-Anchorage (62-58) en route to the championship last week. WKU has now won an in-season tournament in each of the last four seasons and has an 11-1 record in the events over that span.
Ole Miss enters Wednesday's matchup with a 3-3 overall record, but the Rebels have won their last two outings by 15 or more points. In their last time out, the Rebels defeated Wagner 86-49 behind 18 points from Shandricka Sessom on Sunday afternoon. Ole Miss has also picked up wins over Mississippi Valley State and Stony Brook this season.
Following Wednesday's game, WKU will return to E.A. Diddle Arena to take on Austin Peay at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Originally scheduled for 2:00 p.m., the game was pushed back due to the Hilltoppers hosting the Conference USA football championship game at 11:00 a.m. The Lady Toppers have won each of the last six meetings against the Lady Govs, including a 91-68 victory on Dec. 16, 2014, last season.

QUICK SHOTS
- Sophomore Ivy Brown broke out for the Lady Toppers on the trip to Alaska, averaging a double-double of 18 points and 10.5 rebounds and earning a spot on the All-Tournament team. Brown netted her first career double-double with career-highs in points (21) and rebounds (14) against Alaska-Anchorage in the final.
- Redshirt junior Kendall Noble took home Great Alaska Shootout MVP honors after averaging 14.5 points and 10 rebounds per game. The Hazard, Ky., native scored a season-best 22 points and hauled down 12 rebounds in the opening round against George Mason.
- 2014-15 All-C-USA Freshman Team selection Tashia Brown leads all Lady Toppers who have taken at least 20 shots with a .480 field goal percentage. Brown knocked down a career-best 10 shots against George Mason and is shooting 24-of-50 for the season thus far.
- Ole Miss head coach Matt Insell is the son of C-USA rival Middle Tennessee's head coach Rick Insell. WKU will face the Blue Raiders twice this season.
- Senior Jalynn McClain's next appearance for the Lady Toppers will be the 100th of her career. The Jeffersonville, Ind., native has appeared in at least 30 games in each of her first three seasons and has tallied 45 starts over that same span.
- WKU broke the 80-point barrier for the first time this season in an 84-58 win over George Mason at the Great Alaska Shootout. The 84 points were the most scored by the Lady Toppers in a single game since pinning 88 on FIU on Feb. 28, 2015.
- WKU is the lone Conference USA team with a pair of players in the top 10 for rebounding in the league as Kendall Noble and Ivy Brown represent the Lady Toppers. Noble is tied for the lead in C-USA alongside Acheil Tac of North Texas with 9.5 boards per game, and Brown has hauled down 7.5 per contest to rank ninth in the conference.
- Through the first four games of the season, Kendall Noble has improved her three-point shooting by more than 16 percent and has knocked down seven of her 13 attempts from beyond the arc for a 53.8 percent clip. Noble's percentage currently ranks fourth in Conference USA and is tied for 15th nationally.
- WKU currently leads Conference USA with six blocks per game as a team, half a block more than Charlotte in second place. Tashia Brown is tied for fourth in the league with 1.8 blocks (7 total) per game, while freshman Simone Goods is seventh in the conference with 1.3 swats (4 total).
