IRVING, Texas – Showcasing excellence on and off the course, Lindsey Hinken and Katie Lever were both named to the 2015 Conference USA Cross Country Women's All-Academic Team, the league announced Friday morning.
The duo were two of the six runners that were recognized on the team as Lever earned the honor for the second-consecutive season.
The 2014/15 C-USA Women's Cross Country Scholar of the Year, Lever holds a 3.97 GPA in communications, while also placing in the Top 10 in two of the four events this season. Lever claimed a spot on the 2015 All-C-USA second team this season after placing ninth at the C-USA Championships.
Hinken has been nearly perfect this season in her studies and performance, boasting an impressive 4.0 GPA in biology and securing three Top 20 times. In the last meet, Hinken guided the Lady Toppers to a third-place finish as she was tabbed the Outstanding Senior of the Meet by grabbing fourth at the conference championship.
The two will get back on the course later today as WKU cross country competes in the 2015 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia. Live results can be found HERE.
