FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- After three rounds of play, the WKU Hilltoppers men's golf team wrapped up play at the Mason Rudolph Invitational hosted by No. 19 Vanderbilt, finishing in 14th place on Sunday.
WKU's golfers combined to shoot a 57-over 909 (305-305-299) on the event, held at the par-71 Vanderbilt Legends Club on the Mason Tees-South, in their toughest field of the spring season.
The event included the nation's top-ranked team in Alabama who won the team title with an five-under 847 (281-294-272) as well as No. 17 Florida State whose Jack Macguire won the event, shooting a 10-under 203, seven strokes better than the field. Mercer, who finished in 3rd, is also currently receiving Top 25 votes.
Cameron Beal led the Hilltoppers with a 12-over 225 (77-75-73) to finish in a tie for 42nd place while Trey Aguirre tied for 47th, shooting a 13-over 226 (76-76-74).
Conor Griffiths tied for 52nd place, shooting a 15-over 228 (76-76-76), and Brandon Beckham finished in a tie for 68th, shooting a 20-over 233 (79-78-76). Austin King wrapped up the card with a 24-over 237 (76-84-77) to finish at No. 75.
Next up for WKU is the Reunion Intercollegiate, hosted by Ole Miss, April 14-15 in Madison, Miss.
