OCALA, Fla. -- After three rounds of play, the WKU Lady Topper golfers wrapped up the Morehead State-hosted Ocala Spring Invitational in 14th place, shooting a 320 third-round team score on Tuesday.
Played at the par-72, 6,113 yard Juliette Falls Golf Course in Dunnellon, Fla., the Lady Tops were led by April Butler from start to finish. Butler finished the event tied for 21st after posting a four-over 76 in the third round to finish with a 228 (73-79-76) overall.
Ellinor Haag finished in a tie for 60th place, shooting consecutive eight-over 80 rounds in the final two rounds to finish with a 239 (79-80-80). Michaela Bordeianu finished at No. 72 with a 243 (84-80-79), shooting her lowest round of the event on Tuesday with a five-over 79.
Daniela Galassi fired a 13-over 85 on Tuesday to finish with a 252 (77-90-85) total score, tying her for 84th place. McKenzie Smith closed out the team card in a tie for 88th place, shooting a 260 (87-84-89) for the event.
Next up for the Lady Toppers is their first home tournament of the season when they host the Lady Topper Classic at the Bowling Green Country Club, March 30 through April 1.
