On coming off of three convincing wins...
"I'm really proud of our group. I told you all when we talked earlier, I didn't know how we were going to respond from being off a whole week. We had some OK practices and we'd have a good day here or there. I was really proud of our focus today and how we came out of the locker room. We didn't start out well, they made some shots early, but we started to pick it up and I could see the energy as they kept going. I made a change in the line-up. Sometimes as a coach, you go with your gut and Chanell Lockhart has been playing her tail off in practice. I'm a firm believer, and I talk to them all the time about, practicing hard and doing the things I ask you and you'll get that opportunity. I wanted to reward Channel for what she's been doing. You see what she did on the floor. She was rebounding, getting deflections, and everything. I think that's a testament to our team and how much we're growing. That's what I'm excited about."
On what she said to Channel Lockhart late in the game...
"I told her to keep doing what she's doing, because she was a big reason we got that big win today. Everything she brought to the table for us in practice, that's the energy, focus, and excitement we have to have every day for us to be good."
On if she has had to make adjustments at halftime the past three games due to a large lead...
"I feel like today we did a way better job than we have in the past two games. The other two games, South Alabama went on a 12-0 run and (Troy) went on a run. I feel like we were really focused and that's what we talked about in the locker room. The first two games, I just talked about the things we needed to do to get better offensively. Of course, I always talk about defense, but today I really emphasized it. I challenged them that we could step out at halftime and put three good games together. I was super proud of them."
On having five players scoring in double figures...
"It was huge. Anytime that you can find different people to score in different ways, it's a challenge for the other team. I think that's one thing, right now, that we're doing pretty well. We're moving the ball well, we're getting people open shots, and we're taking open shots that they take in practice. That's important. We've been talking about that a lot, time and scoring. I want them to have fun and the past three games I hope people have seen that this team is growing, having fun, and working hard."
On the decrease in the number of turnovers in the past three games...
"It's been very valuable to us. That was one thing last year that we did a lot, we turned it over a lot. I think the next big thing is making free throws. We struggled a little at the beginning of the season, but now I think we've gotten back to being focused on where we need to be. Again, it's just an awesome opportunity as a coach to be able to sit back and watch a team grow and watch them get better and better every day. Now the challenge is to continue to keep getting them to have focus, be ready, and taking one game at a time."
On well the team has played with Alexis Govan...
"I think it says a lot about the team. It shows the maturity and where we're growing. I think it shows that they're a close knit group. It's like I've said before, Alexis is a big part of that, too. If you watch the game, she's more into than me sometimes. I know I can be very intense, but she's over there coaching and cheering them on. She's the same way in practice and in film sessions. That's important. I think the team understands and knows that this has been a tough time for Alexis. It's been hard. Alexis is one of the most competitive players I've ever coached and this has really tough for her. I'm proud of this team because I've seen the team grow every game. Today it was Channel Lockhart, Kendall Noble was getting 30 (points) one day, Bianca McGee had five threes the last game. When you can do those things as a team, then you will continue to keep growing. I think we just have to keep correcting some things, but we have to keep our energy and flow of what we're doing."
