BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Looking for their 10th win of the season, Lady Topper Basketball hosts Ball State in the final non-conference game of the season in E.A. Diddle Arena on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. CT.
With one win in their final two non-conference matchups, WKU would reach 10 wins before Jan. 1 for the second time in three years and for the sixth time in program history. WKU has achieved the feat in 1990-91 (10-1), 1997-98 (10-3), 1998-99 (10-2), 2005-06 (10-2) and 11-2 (2012-13). WKU went 8-3 in 2013-14 in games played before Jan. 1.
The game will be televised by the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network on Fox College Sports with Jeff Younglove (play-by-play) and Paul Sanderford (analyst) on the call. It is available via Dish Network channel 449, DirectTV channel 608 and WKU PBS in the Bowling Green area. It is also available via the FoxSportsGo app to provider authenticated users.
Audio will be live streamed on www.wkusports.tv with Barry Williams (play-by-play) and former Lady Topper Laurie Idlett (analyst) on the call. The game can also be heard live on ESPN 102.7 FM and 1450 AM in the Bowling Green area and worldwide via the TuneIn app.
The Lady Toppers are coming off a 91-68 win over Austin Peay as senior All-American candidate Chastity Gooch had 32 points, including 24 in the first half. WKU shot 60.0% percent in the first half and scored 51 points in the first half in the 23 point win.
Gooch, the Naismith Trophy Watch List selection, leads the Lady Toppers in scoring at 18.5 points per game. She is currently shooting 55.0 percent from the field and is among the nation's leading active career scorers.
Ball State (4-5) is coming off a 59-47 setback at Pittsburgh on Thursday night but also have an impressive 69-56 setback at Louisville on their resume.
Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT on Sunday afternoon in the final chance for fans to see WKU play in E.A. Diddle Arena until Jan. 15.
- The game will feature a toy drive to benefit Marine Toys for Tots foundation drive. Individuals that bring a new toy will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. Toys will be given out to the children in Bowling Green area for Christmas.
- Every season ticket holder will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to bring friends to watch the Lady Toppers in action. Visit the ticket office for more information.
- Fans can participate in the Lady Toppers U Win Program. Fans that buy a $10 upper level reserved seat to any home game between Monday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 21 will receive a free ticket to the each of the next WKU home games as long as the Lady Toppers continue to win. For example, if WKU wins the next 10 home games after fans purchase their $10 upper level reserved seat, they will receive a free ticket to each of the 10 ensuing home games for the remainder of the 2014-15 season. WKU has won its last nine games at home entering Sunday's game with Ball State.
