Nov. 7, 2014 HATTIESBURG, Miss.— Falling in the first set for the third-straight match, the WKU volleyball team (24-5, 12-1) also repeated the action of rallying out a win for the third-straight match, as the Lady Toppers took a 3-1 win (23-25, 25-9, 25-10, 27-25) at Southern Miss (19-11, 8-5) on Friday night.

WKU continued to lead 23-21 before the home team posted the final four points of the match, which included three WKU miscues, to win the frame 25-23.
The second frame was all WKU, as the Lady Toppers hit at a .609 clip with no attack errors to USM's -.027. Cavanaugh totaled seven kills in the frame, as WKU hit at another phenomenal hitting percentage with a .517 mark.
After leading for most of the contest and into the later points in the fourth set at 20-14, WKU found itself in trouble after attack errors and Golden Eagle blocks allowed USM to tie the frame at 24 each. Knotted again at 25 apiece, kills by Bodway and Boyan allowed WKU to secure the frame 27-25 and take the 3-1 win.
