- WKU improved to 5-5 overall and won its second-straight game versus Army, who fell to 3-7
- With the win, WKU becomes the first non-independent program to sweep Army and Navy in back-to-back seasons since Boston College accomplished the feat in the 2000-01 seasons. Air Force was the last team to sweep Army and Navy in consecutive seasons during the 2010-11 campaigns
- The Hilltoppers climbed back to .500 for the first time since Sept. 27 and are now one win shy of being bowl eligible for the fourth-straight season.
