Opening Statement
"Today was a great win for us. We're excited. We worked really hard this week and really emphasized playing hard more so than we have - just playing hard for 60 minutes and giving it everything we have to continue to try and get better. I definitely think we got better today. We played physical, we made plays, we found ways on offense to make yards running. We found ways on defense, other than a couple of big plays we gave up, to tackle better, be more physical and re-establish the line of scrimmage. It was definitely a good game and a good win for us."
On expecting Leon Allen's big day
"No, I didn't. Not until late in the game when someone told me. I hadn't realized he was that close but I knew he had quite a few yards. He's very physical. He's a very tough runner. We knew that. He's versatile, can catch the ball, he's athletic and can do a lot of things. Today, earlier on they were dropping a lot of guys in coverage. They were dropping eight guys. They were flying guys underneath routes trying to take away the passing game. They did a pretty good job of that. We came out in the second half and wanted to run the ball. We hit the first big run for a long one and continued to pound the ball after that and had a good feel of what was going on. He ran well, our o-line blocked well. We had some plays where we had some guys pulling with Forrest Lamp and Brandon Ray, they're our most athletic lineman, and they got out and pulled, paved the way and Leon did a great job."
On danger of the offense with a run game
"That's the sign of a really good offense, if you can run and pass. You always want to be balanced but to me, balanced is taking what they give you. Some games you may have to run the ball more. Some games you may have to pass the ball more. If you can do both effectively, I think that makes for a good offense."
"It's good to see us be able to do that. We ran the ball effectively. We were physical up front. We got yards, we moved the chains and we answered when they scored, which is important to do because with that triple option they can hit you at any time. The fact that we were able to answer when they scored showed we were into the game playing hard and that was good to see."
On defense turning the corner
"I think you can definitely see the confidence oozing out of them. I think they played harder. I think we tightened some things up, they made a few adjustments, they're seeing things better, reacting better, their eyes are into the backfield, they're reading things better and they're coming down hill better. We worked hard, this week, trying to strike. Strike more. We didn't feel like we were striking enough with the d-line. Coach Dunn and Coach Delgado did a great job of working with them on that. It helped. Obviously we still have a long ways to go but we made some strides today. Our defense made stops against a good running football team. It was definitely a big win."
On players buying into playoff mentality
"I think so. To me, I tell these guys `This is what it's all about. If you have ever have the chance to get in the playoffs, that's what it's all about. If you have a chance to play at the next level and make the playoffs, make the Super Bowl, that is what it's all about.' We're in a playoff mentality now. It's important for us. We've been able to win two games and advance. We have a very tough game coming up against a very, very good defensive team. I think they're the most experienced team in the league as well. I know they lost their quarterback early on and that may have hurt them a little bit but this is going to be a tough game coming up. We're advancing. We're moving on. I think our guys are excited about it, looking forward to it, looking forward to getting better, looking forward to playing at home again and seeing if we can pull off another win."
On how much of Leon Allen's performance is credited to offensive line
"I thought they did a great job. They were physical up front. We had a few penalties that hurt us at times but they kept playing hard. I know a few times we tried to isolate and getting Forrest Lamp and Brandon Ray pulling for Leon (Allen). They did a great job. They're athletic, Leon stayed behind them, they paved the way and really played hard. I think they had fun doing it. Sometimes when you're a pass heavy team, always pass protecting and back pedaling and having somebody come down your throat it is tough. When you get a chance to come off the ball, strike people and hit them in the mouth, I know they enjoyed that."
On Hail Mary touchdown to end the first half
"I tell you what, obviously we had some luck on it but it is how you draw it up. Normally it doesn't happen that way. We took a timeout at the end of their last drive to stop the clock. It helped us. It gave us the few extra seconds we needed. We practice it. Really, you like to drop back and roll to the right a little bit and allow the receivers to get down there. They blitzed off the right, to our right, which was good by them. Brandon (Doughty) did a good job. He recognized it, stood in the pocket, hung in there, gave the receivers time to get down there and threw it up high. Shoot, it was almost picture perfect from my angle. With Jared (Dangerfield), our tallest receiver, jumped up, tipped it up and there was Willie McNeal waiting behind him. It was a big play. We needed it. It gave us a lot of momentum."

On key to big day
Allen: "The key was to run the ball. It was there so I had to believe, trust in my line and every time there was a hole, hit it, hit it hard and go all out."
On thinking he would have a big game
Allen: "I didn't think it was going to be this big. I prepared this week harder than I ever prepared. Came out with playoff mentality in practice and finishing in practice and it carried over onto the field."
On at what point he was aware he was close to rushing record
Allen: "(When) I was 10 yards short. I didn't even know. They came over and told me and I was like, it kind of put a little pressure on me, but I got to get it now. I was kind of mad they told me. I would have rather them just kept it a secret then told me after the game."
On what single-game Conference USA and WKU rushing record means
Allen: "It hasn't sunk in yet. I'm still overwhelmed. I don't know how to explain the feeling. I'm just glad that I'm a part of it. I want to thank my o-line and the receivers. They work hard on blocking down the field. My o-line got off the ball, hit people and created holes."
On Hail Mary as first half expired
Doughty: "We practice that play all the time on Thursdays. I knew that Dangerfield was out there to the right so I was just trying to give him a shot at it, just anything I could do. They actually overloaded the line to the right so we tried to slide the protection to it. They slid to it, one guy made a play and God graced us with a great touchdown."
On expecting Leon Allen's big day
Doughty: "I actually did. I really did. Watching film I thought we could. They were getting gashed a little bit. I knew Leon was going to have a big day going in and I think that was key for us. Sitting there just being able to hand the ball off 40 times and seeing him break all those runs, it's an unbelievable feeling. It takes a lot of pressure off you as the quarterback."
On Hail Mary (Dangerfield)
Dangerfield: "That's one of my specialties, going up and getting the ball. I saw the ball in the air and I had a chance to get it and I got my hands on it, I just knew if I tipped it Willie (McNeal) was going to make that catch. We executed it."
On playoff mentality
Dangerfield: "We just have to come out with a physical mentality, a playoff mentality, and win from here
