BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tickets for the opening round game of the 2014 Preseason Women’s NIT against Central Arkansas are now available for purchase for season ticket holders and will be available for the general public beginning Monday at 8:00 a.m. CT.
Tickets for the Preseason Women’s NIT game on Friday, Nov. 14 against Central Arkansas are not part of the season ticket package. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under the age of three are admitted free of charge. Season ticket holders were contacted via email on Monday about the opportunity to purchase their regular season ticket locations for the Preseason Women’s NIT opening round game in advance. They have until 5:00 p.m. CT on Friday to purchase their same seats or additional seats for the opener.
On Monday, Oct. 27 at 8:00 a.m. CT, all remaining seats will go on sale to the general public.

The game marks the first chance to see the in action during the regular season. The 2014 tournament appearance will mark WKU’s fourth all-time in the event. The Lady Toppers are 4-0 all-time in E.A. Diddle Arena in the Preseason WNIT and 6-3 overall all-time in the tournament. WKU will be the first team from Conference USA in the event since Memphis participated in 2012-13. WKU’s fourth appearance in the event will be the most among the teams in the 2014 field. WKU went 2-1 in the 2007-08 event, beating East Tennessee State and Evansville in E.A. Diddle Arena with a loss to Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. In 2003-04, WKU beat Rhode Island at home before falling at Texas Tech in the 2003 event. In 1997, WKU beat Louisville in E.A. Diddle Arena before beating New Mexico on the road, then falling to Nebraska and beating Northwestern in Storrs, Conn., early in the 1997-98 season.
The Preseason WNIT began in its modern form in 1994. It is organized and produced by Triple Crown Sports, a national sports event company based in Fort Collins, Colo. The 2013 championship game was televised nationally by CBS Sports Network.
The Preseason WNIT is formatted to give all teams a three-game guarantee. The event opens Nov. 14-15 with Round One. Round Two will be played Nov. 16-17; Semifinals will be Nov. 19-20; and the championship is set for Sunday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. ET. The championship game will be nationally televised live in HD on CBS Sports Network. Teams that lose in the first two rounds will play consolation games on Nov. 21-22. All games are hosted by participating schools.
Last season, Louisville won the Preseason WNIT by beating Oklahoma in Norman in front of over 7,500 fans. Louisville went on to reach the Elite Eight in the 2014 NCAA Division One Women’s Basketball Tournament. Last year’s field included such elite programs as Louisville, LSU, Oklahoma and Gonzaga. In 2011-12, a Preseason WNIT run was part of Baylor’s 40-0 season on its way to the National Championship.
WKU takes the floor for their lone exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. CT when the Lady Toppers host Bellarmine. Admission is free.
