BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - T.J. Price led the Hilltoppers with 15 points and five rebounds, but Western Kentucky lost to Georgia State 77-54 in a conference matchup Thursday night.
Curtis Washington scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and sparked the second half breakaway run that gave Georgia State the outright lead.
Georgia State (10-6, 3-0 Sun Belt Conference) opened the second half with 15 unanswered points sparked by a Washington dunk to shake off a close first half and pull steadily away, outscoring Western Kentucky 43-25 after the break.
Western Kentucky (10-6, 2-1) kept the game close in the first half, tying the score four times but never taking the lead, and trailed by just five at the break, 34-29.
Manny Atkins contributed 18 points, Devonta White added 13, R.J. Hunter had 12 and Ryan Harrow 11 for the Panthers, which shot 48 percent from the field and hit all 22 of their shots from the foul line.
