BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky University tennis head coach Jeff True leads his Hilltopper and Lady Topper teams into their first match of the season against the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles in Evansville, Ind., on Sunday.
The Hilltoppers, returning eight letterwinners from last season, own a 9-2 record all-time over USI. Two newcomers could see their first action this weekend, as Matt Brown and Andrew Hill await their Hilltopper debuts.
"I'm excited to see what impact these two freshman can have on our season," said True.
On the Lady Toppers' side, True said he's eager to see Emily Przystawski and Tori West in their first action as well.
The Lady Toppers are returning six letterwinners from last season, including standout senior Monta Reinfelde. Reinfelde posted a 12-3 record in singles play last year and won both her singles and doubles matches against USI last season. WKU went on to win that match 6-1.
