BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Picked by eight of nine league coaches to win the Sun Belt Conference in the preseason poll, the WKU soccer team begins its quest for league supremacy this weekend as the Lady Toppers play host to ULM and Louisiana-Lafayette at the WKU Soccer Complex.
WKU (2-3-4) enters Sun Belt action with a 57-8-4 mark against current league members while boasting a 43-13-9 mark since 2007, the most wins of any league member in that span.
Both games will be broadcast live at WKUSports.tv with Craig Widener and Fletcher Keel on the call.
The Lady Toppers hold a 7-0 record all-time against the Lady Warhawks (5-5-1) and will look to stay perfect against them on Friday at 6 p.m. (CT). WKU has controlled every facet of the series versus ULM, outscoring the Lady Warhawks 25-4 and netting multiple goals in six of the seven meetings.
Friday's game will be a "Kick For Pink" match benefitting the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. All fans wearing the color pink will receive free admission to the game while the first 200 fans to enter the WKU Soccer Complex will be given free pink towels.
WKU returns to the pitch Sunday at 1 p.m. to host Louisiana-Lafayette at the WKU Soccer Complex. The Lady Toppers hold a 10-1-2 record against the Ragin' Cajuns all-time and have not surrendered a goal to Louisiana-Lafayette in Bowling Green since the 2004 season.
