- WKU falls to 1-2 on the season (0-1 in the Sun Belt Conference).
- WKU played its third game away from home to start the season. It is the first time that has happened since 2008. WKU also opened the season with three games away from home in 1931, 1941, 1948, 1983 and 1993.
- WKU will return home next Saturday, Sept. 21 when the Hilltoppers face Morgan State at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. - WKU's scoring streak stands at 14 games since being shutout against Alabama (35-0) on Sept. 8, 2012.
- WKU has scored on its opening drive in each game this season after opening the game with a five play, 79 yard drive to open the game.

- Doughty completed 3-of-3 passes for 35 yards while Antonio Andrews had two carries for 44 yards on the drive. Doughty is now 14-of-16 for 132 yards on opening drives in the three games this season.
- WKU's 14 points in the opening quarter were the most for WKU in the first quarter this season.
- WKU has scored 20 points or more in seven straight games and in 12 of the last 13 games.
- WKU has converted 11-of-18 third-down attempts in the first half of games over the last two games after converting just 2-of-6 in the opener against Kentucky in the first half.

- Junior quarterback Brandon Doughty finished 27-of-47 for 282 yards and three touchdowns. Doughty threw for multiple touchdowns in the same game for the first time in his career.

- Senior offensive lineman Sean Conway made his 40th career start and 40th consecutive start.
- Junior defensive back Cam Thomas recorded his first career sack early in the second quarter. It was credited as a 13-yard loss.
- Five players made their first career start at their current position with four players making their first overall career start. TJ Smith, DeMarcus Glover, Leon Allen and Nicholas Norris made their first career starts while Rico Brown made his first career defensive start.
- Freshman receive Nicholas Norris became the first true wide receiver to catch multiple touchdown receptions in a game since Oct. 24, 2009 when Jake Gaebler had two touchdown receptions against Middle Tennessee.

- Norris had a career best 95 yards receiving in the game.
- It is just the fourth time any player has caught multiple touchdown passes in a game since the start of the 2010 season.
- Senior linebacker Xavius Boyd recorded his third double-digit tackle game to begin the 2013 season.
- Sophomore Garrett Schwettman hit a 44-yard field goal, a new career long. It was his seventh consecutive made field goal.
