BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Junior All-America candidate Chastity Gooch has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It was the second career Player of the Week honor for Gooch. Last season, WKU took home Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors on four occasions, including Gooch's selection on Nov. 2, 2012.
Gooch had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead WKU to a 86-63 win over Murray State on Saturday afternoon at E.A. Diddle Arena. Gooch hit 11-of-16 shots from the field to lead four Lady Toppers in double figures. She added two blocks and two steals to round out her stat line. It marked the 28th career double-double for Gooch and her second in three games to start the season.
