Guerra, who will compete for the Hilltoppers in their indoor and outdoor track and field seasons next spring, tossed the javelin 71.30 meters, a new personal record, to capture runner up honors for his native country Chile in the international competition.
Tomas is the younger brother of two-time All-American javelin thrower Ignacio Guerra (2012), who won two Sun Belt Conference titles and set Chilean national records in the event during his career at WKU. WKU head coach Erik Jenkins looks forward to that level of contribution from Tomas.
"I am extremely proud of Tomas and his international representation of WKU and his native country Chile," said Jenkins. "He continues to gain valuable experience at some of the biggest competitions in the world. We are excited about his future at WKU."
