ATHLETIC TRAINING FACILITIES | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Completed in January of 2009, The athletic training facility located in Houchens Industries - L.T. Smith Stadium West serves the needs of WKU Football, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, and Cross Country teams. This facility features a ten station taping area; a treatment area of fourteen treatment tables; a rehabilitation area; and a hydrotherapy area containing the Hydroworx 2000 underwater treadmill pool, four whirlpools, and a cold plunge pool. The facility also houses athletic training staff offices, and a physician’s office for weekly drop-in clinics. The purchase of all new modality units, a Chattanooga traction table, and a technology update have made this a truly, state of the art facility. The athletic training facility at E.A. Diddle Arena serves the needs of WKU Basketball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Volleyball, and Golf teams. This facility houses athletic training staff offices, and features five treatments tables along with four taping stations adjacent to the rehabilitation area. Our hydrotherapy area includes The SwimEx 5000 Endless Pool equipped with two underwater viewing ports for evaluation and assessment, with cold plunge tanks also available to the Hilltoppers and Lady Hilltoppers for treatment. Our hydrotherapy areas allow WKU athletes to conduct rehabilitation and conditioning programs under the direct supervision of our athletic training staff. Together, these two facilities provide for the medical needs of all WKU Student-Athletes. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
