BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Athletics has hired Will McNamara as the Assistant Director of Compliance.
In his role, McNamara will be responsible for monitoring initial eligibility of student-athletes, recruiting activity and playing and practice activity. He will have primary oversight of all official visit documentation, evaluate transcripts for incoming freshmen and transfer student-athletes, and monitor and assist with the progress of prospective student-athletes through the NCAA Eligibility Center process.
McNamara joins WKU after working as a Graduate Assistant in compliance at Ball State, where he received his graduate degree in Sport Administration in 2026. In his role, he assisted in bylaws 12, 13 and 14, and oversaw bylaw 17 for all sports. He also assisted in the creation of rules education for Ball State's athletic programs.
McNamara graduated from Defiance College in 2024 with a degree in Sport Management. He is a native of Yorktown, Indiana. McNamara resides in Bowling Green with his wife, Nina, and daughter, Ramona.
