It’s the third time since the beginning of last year that the senior guard/forward has been honored.
Lee began his final campaign by scoring a game-high 26 points — the most he has recorded in a season-opener — on 11-of-15 shooting, adding five rebounds and three steals in just 21 minutes to help WKU to a 35-point victory over Kennesaw State Friday. After scoring 12 points in the first half, Lee posted 10 in the opening three minutes after the break as part of a 15-0 run that put the game away. He also finished with a blocked shot and a steal, and he did not commit a turnover.
With the effort, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Indianapolis, Ind., resident moved into 11th place on the school’s all-time scoring list.
Lee also moved up a spot in two categories in the SBC record books with his performance against the Owls. He climbed into 20th place in steals as well as 23rd on the three-point field goal list after going 2-of-5 from long distance.
Lee and the Hilltoppers return to action Tuesday night with a 7 p.m. (CST) tip against Kentucky Wesleyan.
