Whitaker missed the entire 2002-03 season after injuring her right knee during the preseason, but returned to start all 34 games in 2003-04. She had also started the last 24 games this season before the surgery.
“We are very disappointed that Camryn will have to miss out on a postseason opportunity — especially since this is her senior season,” said Cowles. “However, Camryn’s health is a top priority and having this surgery now was in her best interest for the long term.”
Whitaker had played in all 29 games during the 2004-05 season, averaging 27 minutes per game. She was also dropping in 3.9 points per night, while dishing out 98 assists. She finishes her Lady Topper career ranked second in career assists (486) and third in games started (117).
