Bowling Green, Ky. - The Hilltopper Baseball squad fell to Yale Wednesday, 9-2. Sudha Reddy pitched a 10-hit complete game, giving up just two walks and two runs to WKU. The win was Reddy's second of the season, both over the Hilltoppers. He defeated WKU 5-3, on March 7.
Junior RHP Kevin Sadowski took the loss for the Hilltoppers. Sadowski made his first start in over a year, after having shoulder surgery. Sadowski gave up five runs on six hits in 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
Western got on the board first, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second. With two outs, junior 1B Eric Hammer walked and stole second base. Freshman LF David Lower then singled and drove in Hammer. The hit was Lower's first of his Hilltopper career. Lower then stole second and scored on junior SS Luis Rodriguez' single.
In the top of the fourth, the Bulldogs answered the Hilltoppers, scoring two runs to tie the game. They would go on to score seven more runs over the next two innings.
Hammer and Lower were both 1-for-2 on the day, and junior RF Tim Cleland was the only Hilltopper to have two hits on the day. Cleland was 2-for-5. The loss breaks the Hilltoppers three-game winning streak.
WKU will return to Sun Belt Conference action Friday, when they travel to Miami, Fla. to face Florida International in a three-game series. Game times are 6, 6 and 1 p.m. (CDT).
