The Hilltoppers rallied late to defeat Southern Miss 27-16 on Tuesday in the 2025 New Orleans Bowl to claim their eighth bowl victory since 2014, their fifth under Head Coach Tyson Helton and their second in The Big Easy. WKU finished the year with a 9-4 overall record.
Come to Houchens-Smith Stadium, stand up and cheer, and help the Hilltoppers continue winning at home! WKU went 5-1 in home games in 2025, has now won 11 of its last 13 games at Houchens-Smith Stadium and is 29-12 in home games under Helton.
The Hilltoppers have been one of the most consistent programs in the country in recent history. WKU is one of just eight teams nationally, and one of only two non-Power Conference programs that has played in a bowl game or College Football Playoff game every season since 2019 and has also played in one or is scheduled to play in one this year. The Hilltoppers are the only non-Power Conference school to win at least eight games every year since 2021 while playing an FBS schedule each of those seasons, and WKU is one of 10 teams nationally that has won at least eight games every season since 2021.
