Trevor Borland joined the WKU Football coaching staff for the 2025 season following a two-year playing career with the Hilltoppers. He currently serves in a Quality Control – Tight Ends role.
Borland was a key contributor at tight end for the Hilltoppers over the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He helped the program to a berth in the 2024 Conference USA Championship Game, as well as the 2023 Famous Toastery Bowl and the 2024 Boca Raton Bowl.
During his final season with the program, Borland made appearances in 11 games with four starts at tight end, including starts in the team's final three games. Although he primarily served as a blocking tight end, Borland caught two passes – both of which were touchdowns – for a total of 8 yards.
In 2023, during his first season playing at WKU, Borland appeared in 10 games with one start.
Prior to his playing career at WKU, Borland spent four seasons at Buffalo. He was primarily a blocking tight end, but caught 18 passes for 146 yards and a touchdowns during his time there.
Borland is a native of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and prepped at Bolingbrook High School, where he was a three-year letterwinner and a team captain.
