Sammy Edwards joined the WKU Football coaching staff prior to the 2025 season. He currently serves in a Quality Control – Running Backs role with the Hilltoppers.
Edwards comes to WKU after a four-year career at Valdosta State, where he appeared in 38 games, and threw for 4,344 yards and 34 touchdowns. He helped lead the Blazers to a national runner-up finish in the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championship. He finished fourth in the Harlon Hill Award in 2024, and was third in voting in 2023. He earned multiple All-America honors, and was named Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Year after finishing his career with a 25-3 record as a starter over his final two seasons.
He earned a rookie minicamp invitation from the New York Giants following his college career at Valdosta State.
Edwards is a native of St. Augustine, Florida.
