Rashaud Scott joins WKU as an Assistant Track and Field Coach, working with the throwing events. A Bronx, New York native, Scott began his collegiate career at Mesa Community College before transferring to the University of Kentucky. During his time with the Wildcats, he earned three All-American honors, captured an SEC title, an NCAA Championship, and went on to compete as a U.S. Olympic Trials finalist in the discus throw.
Scott’s transition from athlete to coach has been marked by a strong commitment to athlete development. He previously served as a volunteer assistant coach at both the University of Kentucky and the University of Washington, where he worked with throwers in the shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin. In his coaching career, he has guided a state champion and helped multiple athletes advance to state and regional championship competition. Scott looks forward to continuing the strong tradition of WKU Track and Field by developing a throws group that consistently contributes at the conference and national level.
Scott has a bachelor's degree in sociology.
