Devontae Lane enters his third season with the WKU men's basketball program and first season as an assistant coach after being promoted to Director of Player Personnel in summer 2026.
Lane previously served as a graduate assistant on the staff for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.
Lane graduated from Central Michigan, earning a bachelor’s degree in Community Development in 2023 and earned his mater's degree in Sport Administration from WKU in 2026.
Lane played two seasons at Central Michigan, starting most games and averaging 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists overall while ranking among the team leaders in steals and assists. Prior to CMU, he played at Indian Hills Community College, contributing to a 33-1 season and an NJCAA No. 1 seed, and earned all-state honors in high school, surpassing 1,000 career points. Lane played for current Mahurin Family Foundation WKU Head Men's Basketball Coach Hank Plona while at Indian Hills.
Lane is from Chicago, Illinois, and currently resides in Bowling Green.
