Chandler DeRieux joined the WKU staff in December 2025 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Academic Affairs.
DeRieux provides strategic leadership for the university's athletics compliance program, overseeing adherence to NCAA, College Sports Commission, Conference USA, and institutional regulations across all 14 varsity sports. In addition to serving as the sport administrator for Cross Country, Men's and Women's Track & Field, and secondary administrator for Men's Basketball, DeRieux oversees athletic scholarship administration, student-athlete eligibility, compliance education, and rules interpretations while fostering a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the department.
DeRieux comes to The Hill from UAB, where he worked as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. He served as liaison to admissions, the university business office, the university financial aid office and the registrar's office. He also served a key role in applying NCAA, American Athletic Conference and campus regulations within department operations and guiding the department in considering future legislation.
In addition to his direct UAB duties, he served on the NAAC Education Committee since January 2024.
DeRieux graduated from Huntingdon College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management. He then continued his education at Auburn University at Montgomery, earning a master’s degree in Sport Management in 2019.
