Carson Burgess joined the WKU Football coaching staff in the spring of 2025. He currently serves in a Quality Control – Wide Receivers role.
Burgess comes to The Hill after one season at Charlotte, where he worked in an Offensive Quality Control position. He helped the 49ers to five wins, including back-to-back wins to end the 2024 season, with an offense that averaged nearly 225 yards passing per game.
In his one season at Charlotte, he helped oversee the development of wide receiver O'Mega Blake, who was named American Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference after posting nine touchdowns on 32 catches. He finished the year with 795 yards receiving.
Burgess attended college at North Carolina, where he graduated in December 2021 and was a member of the football program for four seasons. He is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, and prepped at Southeast Guilford High School.
