Senior (2021-22): Conference USA All-Conference Team…Named to the C-USA All-Defensive Team for the second straight season…Named C-USA Player of the Week three times…Named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Midseason watch list and was later named a semifinalist for the award…Named to the Preseason WNIT All-Tournament Team…Her 1,352 career points are the 24th most in WKU history…Started in every game of her career for 117 career starts which is tied for the eighth most by a Lady Topper…Her 585 points scored in 2021-22 is the seventh most scored by a Lady Topper in their senior season…Came one career steal short of the WKU top 10 with 196…Finished the season in the top 50 of five different statistical categoires nationally and top 100 in eight categories...Abdelgawad got to the free throw line at a high rate, taking 208 free throw attempts on the season which was the 11th most of any player in the country...She connected on 141 of those free throws, marking the 22nd most free throws made by a player nationally...Finished the season as the nation's 25th highest scorer and C-USA's second leading scorer, averaging 19.5 points per game...Had four 30-point games on the season which is tied for the fourth most by a WKU player in one season…Was second in the C-USA in both field goals made (203) and field goal percentage (54.0 percent), marking the highest field goal percentage by a guard in the league...Had the third most steals in the conference with 67 total...Scored in double digits in all but two games all season and had 14 20-point performances…Notched five double-doubles…Averaged 7.7 points per game in transition, which was the fourth most by a NCAA Division I player for the season according to Synergy Sports...Had five games with five-or-more assists…Team’s leading scorer and rebounder the whole season…Led the team in scoring in 21 games of 30 played and led in rebounding 15 games…Also led in assists and steals 12 times each…Had a career high 36 points in a win against Southern Miss to go along with nine rebounds and five assists…Scored 33 points against Rice, Fairleigh Dickinson and Tennessee Tech…Had 19 rebounds against UT Martin…Tied her career high in steals with seven against Kentucky State.
Junior (2020-21): Named to the C-USA All-Defensive Team…Started in all 23 games for WKU in 2020-21…Scored in double figures 15 times and recorded six double-doubles on the season…Made 60 steals in 2020-21, the second most in C-USA and 38th nationally…Her 2.61 steals per game rate was third in the league and 37th in the country…Scored 29 points and dished out seven assists at FIU on Feb. 27 for new career highs in both categories…Made the buzzer-beating three to win for WKU against Charlotte on Jan. 29…Had a season-high tying 11 rebounds in that game…Also had 11 rebounds at Louisiana Tech on Jan. 8…Had a career high seven steals against Florida Atlantic on Feb. 6.
Sophomore (2019-20): Started all 29 games in 2019-20…Scored in double figures 12 times, including six of the last nine games of the season…Had a 13-point, 15-rebound double-double at Louisiana Tech…Scored a season-high 17 points against UTEP…Put up 15 points at Mercer…Had three-or-more steals in five games...Named to the Dean's List in the spring semester.
Freshman (2018-19): Turned in a strong freshman campaign on The Hill, starting all 35 games and being named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team following the season… Named C-USA Freshman of the Week three times… Made an immediate impact, scoring 15 points in her first true road game at Oklahoma… Had a breakout game against Union (Tenn.), the top-ranked Division II team in the nation at the time, with a career-best 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field… Also broke the 20-point barrier against Old Dominion in conference play, tallying 22 points in a win over the Monarchs… Helped WKU to secure its fifth straight home win over archrival Middle Tennessee with 10 points against the Blue Raiders… Competed for the Egyptian national team in the 2019 Afrobasket competition following the season, leading the Egyptians to a seventh-place finish.
Prior to WKU: Brings top-level international experience to the Lady Toppers and has seen extensive playing time with the Egyptian national team… Competed in the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup in her most recent stint with the Egyptian national team, averaging 17.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game across seven contests in July 2017… Also competed for Egypt's senior national team in the final round of the 2017 Afrobasket tournament… Was the youngest player competing for any nation in the event and held her own against much older players, averaging 11.1 points, three rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as Egypt claimed a seventh-place finish… Began to emerge as a star for Egypt at the 2016 U18 Afrobasket Championships, pushing Egypt to a second-place finish while putting up a statline of 14 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, earning MVP honors for the event.
