JUNIOR (2015-16): Appeared in all 34 games for the Lady Toppers and made four starts, all in C-USA play... Averaged 12.6 minutes per outing... Became a key defensive stopper for the Lady Toppers, averaging 2.4 rebounds per game with 16 steals... Made her first start at Florida Atlantic, playing 24 minutes with four points and seven boards (Jan. 9)... Started a stretch of three road games at Marshall (Feb. 14), Old Dominion (Feb. 18) and Charlotte (Feb. 20)... Played a career-best 27 minutes in the opening round of the WNIT against Dayton, scoring 10 points and hauling in seven rebounds (March 17)... Played 12 or more minutes in all four of WKU's WNIT contests... Scored seven points with four rebounds in the WNIT Quarterfinals at South Dakota (March 27).
JUNIOR COLLEGE (2013-2015): Comes to WKU from Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas where she spent the last two seasons... Averaged 13.7 points per game, shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line during her sophomore season at Kilgore in 29.5 minutes per game... Was named a NJCAA All-Region XIV selection after the 2014-15 season... Averaged 13.3 points and 7.8 rebounds as a freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Akpan attended high school at Hamilton Heights Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn.... Averaged 13.8 points per game as a senior... Led the team to a 20-win season and the school's fifth straight National Association of Christian Athletics National Championship.
