2024 (r-Jr.) | 14/1: Ellis appeared in all 14 games WKU played during the 2024 season, adding depth at linebacker and on special teams. He started for the Hilltoppers in the Boca Raton Bowl against James Madison and posted a season-high eight tackles in the game. He finished the season with 48 total tackles, a pass breakup and a forced fumble, which came in the Nov. 9 win at New Mexico State.
Before WKU: Ellis spent two seasons at Alcorn State prior to his arrival at WKU. The linebacker played in 22 games for the Braves, totaling 191 tackles, including 17.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks, during that time. He also recorded an interception, two passes defended, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over his two seasons there. As a junior in 2023, Ellis tallied 99 tackles, with eight for loss and four sacks, an interception, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. During his first season with the Braves in 2022, Ellis had 92 tackles, with 9.5 for loss and four sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Prior to his time at Alcorn State, Ellis spent two seasons at Rice, where he appeared in seven games and recorded nine tackles and an interception.
HS/Misc.: Ellis prepped at Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas, where he was a two-year letterman and helped lead the Sharks to a 16-0 record, as well as district and Texas 5A D1 championships. As a senior, Ellis posted 44 tackles, with 13 tackles for loss and six sacks. Ellis finished his prep career at Shadow Creek with 75 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
