Imari Hazelwood begins her eight season with WKU Football as the Coordinator of Academic Development in 2026, a role she assumed in January 2019.
In this role, Hazelwood directly supports all academic endeavors of Hilltopper football student-athletes. Prior to joining the football staff, Hazelwood worked on campus as an academic counselor.
WKU Football has received the Conference USA Sport Academic Award in back-to-back years in 2024-25 and 2025-26 under Hazelwood. The award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the academic year. WKU Football posted a 3.09 cumulative GPA across the 2024-25 academic year to earn the award, with a total of 72 student-athletes recording a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater, and the Hilltoppers recorded a 3.26 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, with 75 student-athletes with a cumulative GPA over 3.0 at the close of the year.
