2019 (r-So.) | 1/0: Shanley appeared in one game for the Hilltoppers, recording a 16-yard rush on Nov. 9 at Arkansas on an option play.
2018 (r-Fr.) | 9/4: Shanley started in four games and appeared in nine total as a redshirt freshman. He completed 91-of-141 passing attempts (68%) for 942 yards and three touchdowns, compared to only two interceptions. He also added 38 rushing attempts for 91 yards and one touchdown. He threw for a career-high 257 yards and two touchdowns on Oct. 20 vs. Old Dominion, while also passing for 240 yards and one touchdown on Sept. 15 at Louisville. He rushed for a three-yard score against the Cardinals, staking WKU to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter. His first and third passing touchdowns were throws to Kyle Fourtenbary; a nine yarder on Sept. 15 at Louisville and a 15 yarder on Oct. 20 vs. Old Dominion. In between, he had a nine-yard touchdown toss to Mik’Quan Deane against the Monarchs. He tossed a 41-yard pass to Lucky Jackson on Sept. 22 at Ball State and a 42-yard pass to Jacquez Sloan on Oct. 13 at Charlotte.
2017 (Fr.): Shanley redshirted his first season on The Hill.
HS/Misc.: Shanley enjoyed a standout career at South Forsyth High School for coach Jeff Arnette. A quarterback with the ability to beat teams throwing and running, he threw for 1,669 yards and rushed for 471 during his senior season. Over a two-year career, he tallied 4,017 passing yards on 277 of 460 attempts (60.2 percent) and 39 touchdown passes and added 1,094 yards on the ground with 15 rushing scores. As a junior, he was named the Forsyth County News Offensive Player of the Year. He helped lead his team to the GHSA 7A playoffs as a senior in Georgia’s largest division. He was a two-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings and the No. 101-ranked pro-style quarterback in the nation.
