2019 (r-Jr.) | 13/13: Joest started all 13 games for the Hilltoppers and played 910 offensive snaps at the center position. He ranked third among Conference USA centers with a 68.9 overall blocking grade by PFF College’s Premium Stats. Meanwhile, his 81.4 pass blocking grade was second among C-USA centers and tied for 11th in the nation. He allowed zero sacks, one quarterback hit, five hurries and six pressures, while being called for only two penalties all season, all of which ranked in the top three among C-USA centers.
2018 (r-So.) | 12/12: Joest started all 12 games and played all 898 offensive snaps at the center position as a redshirt sophomore. He ranked second among Conference USA centers with a 16.9 overall cumulative rating by PFF College’s Signature Stats, which included +12.2 for run blocking and +8.1 for pass blocking. He ranked second among Conference USA centers with a 73.4 rating by PFF College’s Premium Stats; his 85.6 run block rating and 85.6 pass block rating both led the league.
2017 (r-Fr.) | 1/0: Joest appeared in his first game as a Hilltopper on Oct. 14 vs. Charlotte.
2016 (Fr.): Joest redshirted his first season on The Hill.
HS/Misc.: Joest starred on the offensive line for the Woodford County High School football team under coach Dennis Johnson. He was rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com and the No. 2 offensive guard prospect in the state, the No. 21 prospect in the state and a two-star by Rivals.com and 247sports.com. The Yellowjackets rushed for 2,487 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2015.
