2017 (r-Jr.) | 13/13: Nuss attempted all 56 kicks for the Hilltoppers, going 10-of-16 in field goals and 39-of-40 in extra points. He hit a game-winning 37-yard field goal in triple overtime to defeat rival Middle Tennessee by a score of 41-38 on Nov. 17. It was the only walk-off field goal in FBS in Week 12 and the only such kick by a Conference USA player all season. He also went a perfect 5-of-5 in extra points and kicked a 28-yard field goal earlier in the game against the Blue Raiders for a career-high 11 points. He went 3-of-4 in both the 20-29 and 40-49 yard range, while going 4-of-8 from 30-39 yards. His longest make of the year was a 44-yarder in the season-opener vs. Eastern Kentucky.
2016 (r-So.) | 7/4: Nuss was WKU’s primary place kicker for the first four games of the season and saw action in seven games overall. Nuss went 5-for-8 in his field goal attempts (62.5 percent) and was 4-of-5 on kicks inside 30 yards, 1-of-2 on kicks 30-39 yards and missed his only attempt of 40 yards or more. Nuss’ long make on the season was 31 yards. Nuss also had two kickoffs for 125 yards.
2015 (r-Fr.) | 9/9: Nuss began the year as WKU’s kickoff specialist, carrying those duties for the first nine games of the season before suffering a season-ending lower leg injury. Nuss averaged 57.0 yards per kick (3,649 yards on 64 kicks) with eight touchbacks and one kick out of bounds. Nuss had a season-high 10 kickoffs against Middle Tennessee and had his best kick day at Indiana, averaging 63 yards per kick (378 on 6).
2014 (Fr.): Nuss originally enrolled at East Tennessee as they began building their football team after shuttering the program in 2003.
HS/Misc.: Nuss was a two-sport star at Fairfield Senior High School, playing both football and baseball. He was a two-year captain for his prep squad, earning All-Academic honors all four years and picked up First Team All-Conference and All-City performer honors, even collecting an All-State Second Team honor his senior season. Nuss was the Special Teams Player of the Year and also selected by the Cincinnati Enquirer as an All-Star Division 1 punter.
