HS/Misc.: Mixon came to The Hill via Jefferson Davis High School where he played for coach Lee Carter. A participant in the prestigious Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game on Dec. 10 in his hometown of Montgomery, Ala., Mixon helped his offense average 310 yards of total offense per game over an 11-game season and helped to anchor an offensive front which produced a pair of 400-yard rushers. Mixon was ranked as a three-star prospect by 247sports.com and ESPN, a two-star by Rivals.com and Scout.com and a top-170 offensive tackle nationally and top-100 player in the state of Alabama.
