2016 (r-So.) | 10/1: Mims appeared in the first 10 games of the season, drawing a start against Middle Tennessee, before sustaining a season-ending injury. Mims talled 11 tackles (six solo) and broke up a pair of passes, one at No. 1 Alabama and one at FAU. He had multiple tackles in four games including Alabama, LA Tech, Old Dominion and FIU.
2015 (r-Fr.) | 8/1: Mims saw action in eight games as a redshirt freshman, drawing his first start against Louisiana Tech at free safety. He tallied 10 tackles (nine solo) on the year with season-best two tackle performances against Vanderbilt, LA Tech, Rice and North Texas.
2014 (Fr.): Mims redshirted his first season on The Hill.
Before WKU: Mims joined WKU from Muscle Schoals High School, the Alabama 5A state runner-up. Mims was an Alabama Sportswriters Association Honorable Mention All-State performer and Times Daily first-team All-Area player as well as second-team All-Tennessee Valley. In 2013, he tallied 49 tackles and five interceptions and also scored four touchdowns. Mims was the No. 65 prospect in Alabama by 247Sports.com and a two-star prospect by Scout.com, Rivals.com and 247Sports.com.
