Jones completed his high school career at Mulberry High School in Florida, graduating early in December 2012 to enroll at WKU. The 6-4, 290-pound offensive lineman led the Panthers to a five-win season in 2012, including ending the season with back-to-back wins. Jones anchored an offensive front that scored 84 combined points in its final two games of the season, outscoring the opposition 84-12 in those final two contests. For the year, Jones and the offensive front led Mulberry to average over four yards per carry on the ground.
