2024 (Sr.) | 14/5: Swanson appeared in all 14 games with five starts in his lone season at WKU, including starts in five of the team's final eight games. The safety finished third on the team in tackles with 63, while adding 1.5 tackles for loss and a pair of pass breakups. Swanson posted back-to-back double-digit tackle games to end the season, with a season-high 14 coming at Jax State during the Conference USA Championship Game on Dec. 6. His 1.5 tackles for loss were against James Madison in the Boca Raton Bowl.
Before WKU: Swanson spent four seasons at Troy prior to coming to WKU. Over the three seasons in which he played – he had to sit out during the 2020 season due to transfer rules – he appeared in 38 games with 89 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, an interception, four passes defended, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. As a junior in 2023, Swanson appeared in all 13 of the team’s games with six starts. He had 47 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The forced fumble and fumble recovery came on the same play against the Hilltoppers. He also was used on 75 special teams snaps, primarily on punt coverage and field goal block. As a sophomore in 2022, Swanson appeared in all 14 games as a key reserve in the secondary as well as a primary player on special teams. He had 26 tackles that season, as well as two passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He played in 11 games during the 2021 season with 16 tackles and an interception – a go-ahead pick six in the Trojans’ victory at Texas State. Swanson did not see any game action during the 2020 season after transferring from Akron, where he played in three games with a pair of tackles and redshirted.
HS/Misc.: Swanson was a receiver and defensive back at West Florida High School. As a senior there, he recorded 53 tackles and three interceptions, and tallied nearly 700 all-purpose yards. He was a participant in the 2018 Subway High School All-Star game for the West team.
