Before WKU: Hicks joins WKU after one season at Oklahoma State, where he appeared in seven games and rushed for 128 yards on 44 attempts. His top performance came at Oregon on Sept. 6, when he rushed for 63 yards on 14 attempts. He spent two seasons at Oklahoma prior to his time with the Cowboys. In his first season of college football in 2023, Hicks saw action in two games – the season opener against Arkansas State and in the Alamo Bowl against Arizona – and rushed three times for 14 yards and a touchdown, all against Arkansas State. He played in five games on special teams and in a reserve role at running back in 2024 at Oklahoma, totaling 11 yards on two carries.
HS/Misc.: Hicks prepped at Ryan High School in Texas, where he ran for more than 3,500 yards and more than 30 touchdowns in his career. He helped his team to the Texas 5A Division I state title his sophomore season in 2020. He was rated as a four-star recruit by On3 and a three-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. He was ranked as the No. 297 overall player in the nation by On3. He was regarded as the No. 8 running back in his class by Rivals, No. 19 by On3, No. 44 by ESPN and No. 49 by 247Sports. He was considered Texas’ No. 54 recruit by On3, No. 79 by Rivals, No. 88 by ESPN and No. 127 by 247Sports. He also ran track in high school.
