2024 (r-Jr.) | 7/0: Hampton appeared in seven games during the 2024 season and added depth to the running backs room. He tallied 11 carries for 57 yards during the season, with a season-best five carries for 25 yards in the Sept. 14 win at Middle Tennessee.
Before WKU: Hampton played two seasons at Elon before transferring to WKU. He was a All-Coastal Athletic Association Third Team selection as a redshirt-sophomore in 2023 after starting all 11 of the team’s games at running back. He rushed for 880 yards and six touchdowns, and also added 41 yards on nine receptions. His 80 yards rushing per game ranked 26th in the country, and he carried the ball at least 10 times in every game in 2023. Hampton was also a Third Team All-CAA selection as a redshirt freshman in 2022. He started all 11 of Elon’s games that season, rushing for 1,053 yards and 10 scores, with eight receptions for 30 yards. He was the second player in Elon’s FCS history to rush for at least 1,000 yards in a season, and he posted 100-yard rushing games four times as a redshirt freshman. He spent his first two years of college at Virginia Tech.
HS/Misc.: Hampton is a graduate of Georgetown Prep High School, where he led the program to a combined record of 24-5 over his final three years and was the 2019 Interstate Athletic Conference Player of the Year. As a senior, he posted 1,214 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 carries – an average of 7.2 yards per carry – and added 40.2 yards per kickoff return, with one touchdown return. He was a team captain that season. Hampton was the IAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2018 after rushing for 1,443 yards and 14 touchdowns, and received First Team All-Conference honors in 2017 after rushing for 1,302 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also lettered in track & field at Georgetown Prep.
