2019 (r-Sr): Brown redshirted the 2019 season while recovering from an injury sustained during spring camp.
2018 (r-Jr.) | 11/0: Brown recorded 25 tackles, including 5.5 for loss, and two sacks, playing in 11 games during his first season at WKU. His most notable performance came on Sept. 29 vs. Marshall, where he recorded five tackles, including one for loss, and one pass breakup in the rivalry game. He tallied two pass breakups, one quarterback hurry and one fumble recovery on the year. His two sacks, with one in each of the season’s final two contests against UTEP and Louisiana Tech, totaled eight yards lost.
Before WKU: Brown went to Kentucky, where he appeared in 22 games and registered 62 tackles (37 solo, 25 assisted) in two seasons after redshirting in 2015. As a sophomore in 2017, he recorded a career-high six takedowns on Sept. 16 at South Carolina and Sept. 30 vs. Eastern Michigan, with one tackle for loss in each contest.
HS/Misc.: Brown was a four-star recruit by all four major recruiting services after playing for coach Steve Long. Scout.com ranked him the No. 1 outside linebacker in the state of Kentucky and the second-best overall prospect in the state. ESPN ranked him the 15th-best outside linebacker in the nation and No. 244 in the ESPN Top 300 and he was chosen for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Had 50 tackles, adding 10 tackles for loss, an interception, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery as a senior after 50 tackles his junior season with two tackles for loss, two interceptions and a forced fumble. He was named to The Courier-Journal’s 2014 All-State Football Team and 2014 Herald-Leader Class of the Commonwealth status, along with being a 2014 Associated Press All-State first-team selection. He helped his team to the state playoffs all four years of high school, including the state semifinals his sophomore season. Also played basketball four years in high school.
