2020 (Sr.) | 12/12: Ruffin started every game for the Hilltoppers for the second straight season, helping lead one of the top pass defenses in the nation. Made 23 total tackles (18 solo, five assisted), pushing his total to 78 over his final three years for the Hilltoppers. Had 11 pass breakups to lead the Hilltoppers, rank second in Conference USA and tied for fifth in the nation. Tied a career-high with three pass breakups vs. Liberty, then added two pass breakups in games at UAB and vs. FIU later in the season. Overall, WKU's 68 pass breakups led all FBS teams and 177.3 pass yards allowed per game ranked eighth. Made his first career interception at #10/11 BYU against Heisman Trophy hopeful Zach Wilson, breaking the quarterback's all-time program-record streak of 184 consecutive passes without an interception. Ruffin returned it for 28 yards, deep into the red zone, leading to a Hilltopper touchdown on the following play. Had a standout game overall gainst the Cougars, playing all 69 defensive snaps while allowing only one reception for six yards on seven targets against him, lining up against the likes of star wide receivers Dax Milne and Gunner Romney.
2019 (Jr.) | 13/13: Ruffin started all 13 games for the Hilltoppers, providing stability and consistency at the cornerback position. He tallied 25 tackles (19 solo, six assisted) – including one for loss – with nine pass breakups and two forced fumbles. Both of his forced fumbled were in crucial situations; the first on Sept. 7 at FIU helped WKU make a game-clinching goal line stand against the panthers, while his second on Nov. 23 at Southern Miss prevented a Golden Eagles' touchdown as the receiver stretched out for the goal line. In Hattiesburg he also racked up a pair of pass breakups. He had a whale of a performance on Sept. 28 vs. UAB, with career-highs of six tackles – all solo – and three pass breakups.
2018 (So.) | 12/0: Ruffin recorded 28 tackles (24 solo, four assisted), playing in all 12 games as a sophomore. He notched three pass breakups, two of which came on Nov. 17 vs. UTEP while the other was on Sept. 29 vs. Marshall. Ruffin took three kickoffs on Sept. 15 at Louisville and returned them for 66 yards, including a long of 34 yards. He was named to the PFF College Conference USA Team of the Week after recording a career-high five tackles on Oct. 13 at Charlotte.
2017 (Fr.) | 11/0: Ruffin appeared in 11 games as a true freshman, seeing time as a reserve defensive back and on special teams coverage units. He made two tackles in the Cure Bowl vs. Georgia State and broke up a pass on Oct. 7 at UTEP. He returned a pair of kickoffs for 22 yards on Nov. 4 at Vanderbilt.
HS/Misc.: Ruffin prepped at Paulding County High School for coach Van Spence. The Louisiana native and two-way player racked up 58 tackles (32 solo), one interception and three passes deflected at cornerback. On the other side of the ball, Ruffin tallied 17 catches for 260 yards and one touchdown at receiver. He was named the 5A All-Purpose Player of the Year as a senior, building off a junior season which included 49 tackles, four interceptions and six pass breakups to go along with a 20.8 kickoff return average. Ruffin was rated a two-star prospect on 247Sports.com and Rivals.com.
