2016 (r-So.) | 14/14: Edwards continued his strong play at guard for the Hilltoppers, starting all 14 games at right guard for the Hilltoppers. WKU finished the season rated as the No. 4 offensive line in all of college football by ProFootballFocus.com. For his part, Edwards was rated No. 31 among all guards nationally by the outlet. Behind Edwards, the Hilltoppers continued their offensive dominance as evidenced by the nation’s No. 1 scoring offense in 2016, averaging 45.5 points per game. On the ground, WKU running backs flourished behind the offensive front and helped carry Anthony Wales to consecutive MVP awards in the C-USA Championship game and Boca Raton Bowl. Wales’ 1,621 rushing yards marked the seventh-straight 1,000-yard rusher for WKU and his 27 rushing scores led the nation and set a new WKU single-season record.
2015 (r-Fr.) | 14/12: Edwards immediately assumed a starting role in WKU’s offensive front, starting 12 games and appearing in all 14 at right guard for the Hilltoppers. Behind Edwards, WKU produced a sixth-straight 1,000-yard runner as well as breaking the single-season records for passing yards and total offense by team and individual (Brandon Doughty) for the third consecutive season.
2014 (Fr.): Edwards redshirted in his first season on The Hill.
HS/Misc.: Dennis Edwards prepped at South Gwinnett High School for coach John Small and was an Atlanta Journal Constitution first-team all-area player as well as an honorable mention all-state performer. The Gwinnett Daily Post named Edwards a first-team all-county player and the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association named him a North/South all-star as well as a Gwinnett County all-star. According to 247Sports.com, Edwards was a three-star prospect and the 19th best offensive center in the nation and a three-star prospect by Scout.com and a two-star prospect by Rivals.com.
