Terrion Thompson joined the WKU Football coaching staff in the spring of 2025. He currently serves in a Quality Control – Defensive Line role with the Hilltoppers. The 2026 season will be his second on the program's coaching staff.
In 2025, Thompson helped coach a defensive line on a unit that finished with the second-best scoring defense in Conference USA, allowing just 22.85 points per game, and the second-best opponent third down conversion defense, allowing opponents to convert on only 35.29% of chances. The Hilltoppers had the top fourth down defense, allowing opponents to convert on 32.26% of opportunities.
Thompson joined the coaching staff after a five-year playing career at WKU. He appeared in 47 games for the Hilltoppers on the defensive line. He collected 75 total tackles, with 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. He also posted two fumble recoveries. He played in each of the program's games over his final season at WKU, after originally arriving as a walk-on.
Thompson is a Bowling Green native and attending Bowling Green High School, where he was a four-year starter for the football team.
