Laura Thomas serves as WKU's Director of Player Development under head coach Mike Sanford.
Thomas, a 2015 graduate of Notre Dame, came to The Hill as part of Sanford's first staff in 2017. A 2015 graduate from the University of Notre Dame, Thomas was hired as an on-air personality for Fighting Irish Media, the Notre Dame Athletics digital media platform. She worked directly with football and 20 other Olympic sports. In February of 2016, Thomas transitioned to the football recruiting office as the Social Media Brand Manager where she ran all social media accounts for the Notre Dame Football program and assisted in community outreach efforts.
In her current role, Thomas is responsible for all community outreach efforts, career development, and lifeskills programming for all football student-athletes. She also assists the Director of Football Operations in the daily operations of the program, including coordinating meals, team travel, camps, and weekly schedules.
Thomas is originally from Minneapolis, Minn.
