Drew Hampton joined the WKU staff prior to the 2013 season after a distinguished career with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars.
In his first season with the Hilltoppers, Hampton helped oversee a complete redesign of the Hilltoppers' on-field image including new jerseys through Russel Athletic as well as the introduction of a chrome helmet for the first time.
Hampton was named the equipment manager of the Jaguars in July of 1998 after spending one season as the assistant the year before. In 2004, Hampton was named the NFL's 'Equipment Manager of the Year' as voted on by his peers and was given the Whitey Zimmerman Award for the honor.
Before arriving in Jacksonville, Hampton worked in the New York Jets' equipment room on a part-time and full-time basis since he was 13. Hampton's father, Bill Hampton, was the legendary manager of the Jets over a 39-year career before retiring in 2002. Hampton's brother Clay currently serves as the Senior Director of Football Operations for the Jets.
A native of Long Island, N.Y., Hampton and his wife Janine have three daughters: Paige, Peyton and Haley.
