CJ Martinez joined the WKU Football staff ahead of the 2026 season. He currently serves in a Quality Control – Running Backs role. The 2026 season is his first on The Hill.
Martinez joins the Hilltoppers after a season at NIU, where he helped coach wide receivers. He arrived at NIU after a season at Montana, where he assisted coaching linebackers.
Prior to Montana, Martinez was the Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Hihg School in California, where he went 29-10 over his final four seasons, won a pair of league championships and had 30 players receive scholarships to play at the next level.
Martinez has also spent time coaching defensive backs at Minot State University and receivers at The College of Idaho.
