HS/Misc.: Caleb Etheridge joined the Hilltoppers by way of Mary Persons High School where he helped anchor the offensive front for coach Brian Nelson. Etheridge, a Georgia Sports Writers Association All-State first team member in Class 4-A, led his team to a semifinal showing in the 2016 Georgia High School Association Class AAAA Playoffs before losing to eventual state champion Cartersville. Behind Etheridge, Mary Persons ranked sixth in all of Georgia’s Class 4A in total rushing, tallying 2,965 total yards and eighth overall in yards per game at 228.1. The Bulldogs averaged 351.7 total yards per game, also good for eighth in the classification out of 43 schools. Etheridge was a two-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings.
